Mike grew up northwest of Lake Norden, S.D. and worked on a neighbor's grain farm during high school and college. He graduated from Augustana College in 1983 with majors in Economics and Business Administration and a Minor in Philosophy. He got his law degree from the University of Minnesota. Mike previously worked for Norwest Bank in Rapid City and practiced law in Rapid City and Watertown before joining Swenson Financial.
